IV. Contracting Process
This chapter is aimed at project managers of approved projects funded by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme 2021-2027.
Summary of project status changes from approval to contracted
During pre-contracting, the project will go through the following statuses. It is possible to follow the progress of the project status on Jems Dashboard.

The application is being updated to meet the pre-conditions (if applicable). | RETURNED FOR CONDITIONS | Based on the agreement between the LP and the Desk Officer. |
The updated application is submitted. | CONDITIONS SUBMITTED | Upon submission |
The application is ready to be contracted. | APPROVED | Between 1 and 3 months from the MC decision date. |
The application is contracted. | CONTRACTED | Within 3 months from the MC decision date. This time might change in case pre-contracted modifications are necessary. |
Preparatory Projects

The application is being updated by the programme to meet the pre-conditions (if applicable) and to convert the project budget into a lump-sum. Information on state-aid are also completed, if relevant. | DRAFT | In agreement between the LP and the Desk Officer. |
The updated application is submitted in step-2. This action is performed by the Programme. | SUBMITTED | Upon submission. |
The application is ready to be contracted. | APPROVED | Between 1 and 2 months from the MC decision date. |
The application is contracted. | CONTRACTED | Within 2 months from the MC decision date. This time might change in case pre-contracted modifications are necessary. |
